A Day in the Life...

Just a little taste of what is going on in our lives!!!

Wednesday, October 04, 2006

Well, the Hematologist came in to talk to me today about my anticoagulants. They are going to switch me over to Heparin as it stays in your system for a shorter period of time. This will help if I have to deliver quickly.

They are still trying to decide if they will administer it via IV drip or shots 3x per day. I am not sure what is worse...the shots or being connected to an IV until I deliver.

The other thing is I am most likely going to have to have a C-Section. When on these anticoagulants you cannot have a spinal or an epidural because bleeding in the spinal column can occur and that can cause paralysis...so...I will have to be put to sleep for the delivery. Not the kind of delivery I had hoped for.

On a positive note...they have reduced my finger sticks to 2x a day instead of 4.

Please continue to pray for Azriel's lungs, and for the clot in my chest to dissolve. Keep the rest of the family in your prayers also as things continue to be very hectic. Also please pray for the doctors and the wisdom to make the correct decisions regarding our care.

Chris is coming up to stay here tonight...he is bringing Taco Bell...YIPPEE...real food!!

Thanks for all your prayers and support!!

Hi Lisa,
Your Mom has kept us posted on your pregnancy and hospital stay, but the blog is Great! It's sounds like you've been through hell. Is there anyway the baby's lungs will be more developed if you go longer than 29 weeks? Or is it too much risk to your health?
Yep, said a prayer for you and the baby just now!! Amen

Hey Lisa,
I talked to your mom last night a church as the church had a benefit supper for Mr. Greenhaw. She said that you were doing better. I am so glad to here and this blog is great. Your family are in our prayers daily. Hope you and your family have enjoyed the big bucket. Hang in there cause it is almost over. You have the best healer on your side. If there is anything that I can please don't assitate to ask. Mollie said hey and she will talk to you soon. I told her about the blog. My favortie verse is Phillipians 4:13, it has got me through a lot of tough times.

Hi Lisa,
I dont know if you remember me. I use to work with your Mom at Deaconess. I have been thinking about you ever since your Mom told me about what was going on. I was also on bedrest, and I know it is Horrible. My bedrest only lasted about one month, but it was so worth it. Amy is now 8years old. I had another baby, Robert on 2/21/05. I had to have a C-Section with that delivery, after about 16hours of labor. I was awake for the C-Section. Will you be put to sleep for yours?
Well good luck to you, and know that you and your baby and family will be in my prayers.
